The purpose of the Anesthesia Clinical Research Committee (ACRC) is to coordinate the clinical research efforts of the department. It will do so by reviewing all proposed clinical research projects to be conducted within the department, approve projects for resource utilization including personnel time and expenses, and also referring appropriate projects to seek funding at the Michigan Institute of Clinical and Health Research (MICHR).

All clinical studies must be presented at ACRC.

If you would like to find out more about the ongoing research in each of the anesthesia subspecialty groups, please contact the research mentor or the research assistant in that group listed below. Click here for an outline of the steps in the process for submitting a clinical research proposal to the ACRC.

The committee will also provide mentorship for junior faculty and residents who are initiating research programs. The committee is not intended to limit or provide any obstacle to ongoing successful research programs, but it is to ensure the appropriateness of the clinical research conducted within the department and the rationale use of departmental and institutional resources for clinical research. The committee will meet every other Wednesday in the Anesthesia Library at the University Hospital.

Please submit research proposals to the appropriate Group Leader: Research proposals need to include Title, Authors, and Introduction with a clearly stated question to be answered by the study, proposed methods, and References. All proposals must also have a completed cover sheet.
